چکیده

Abstract Background Drug withdrawal syndrome occurs due to abrupt cessation of an addictive substance. Dependence diazepam can be manifested by which may include symptoms such as irritability, psychosis, sleep disturbance, seizures, mood and anxiety. Studies have described the therapeutic role agmatine in various neurological disorders depressive mood, learning deficits, anxiety, memory impairment, psychosis. Various studies also validated a putant neuromodulator revealed its mechanism action with other neurotransmitters. The study was designed reveal potentials benzodiazepine maintaining GABA/glutamate balance. aimed determine underlying at synaptic level using behavioral biochemical evaluations. Results Agmatine significantly enhanced locomotion open filed test decreased anxiety observed elevated plus maze ( p < 0.01). reduced scores along compulsive behaviors marble burying improved muscular strength decreasing latency fall inverted screen Moreover, established balance increasing GABA levels glutamate concentration Conclusion present reveals possible on NMDA receptor interneurons post neuron that lead during syndrome.

Asymmetric Involvement of Central and the Peripheral NMDA Glutamate Receptors in the Expression of Withdrawal Syndrome in Morphine-Dependent Mice

Introduction: Morphine withdrawal syndrome is mediated via several central and peripheral neurological pathways. In the present study we investigated the role of N-methyl-D aspartic acid (NMDA) glutamate receptor on naloxone-induced withdrawal syndrome in morphine-conditioned mice. Materials and Methods: We designed two separate experiments. In experiment one, 30 male NMRI mice were divide...

Inhibition of food intake by PACAP in the hypothalamic ventromedial nuclei is mediated by NMDA receptors.

Central injections of pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) into the ventromedial nuclei (VMN) of the hypothalamus produce hypophagia that is dependent upon the PAC1 receptor; however, the signaling downstream of this receptor in the VMN is unknown. Though PACAP signaling has many targets, this neuropeptide has been shown to influence glutamate signaling in several brain re...

Inhibition of morphine withdrawal by the NMDA receptor antagonist MK-801 in rat is age-dependent.

This study investigated the effects of the NMDA receptor antagonist MK-801 on the development of morphine dependence in 7-, 14-, and 21-day-old rat pups. For 6.5 days, starting at 1, 8, or 15 days of age, rats were pretreated with MK-801 (0.03 or 0.1 mg/kg, bid) or saline; 15 min later, morphine sulfate (10 mg/kg) or saline was injected to induce opiate dependence. On the afternoon of the seven...
